Maybe Lane Kiffin will be sticking around Southern California for more than a year. He’ll have to stay quite a while if he wants to see his star recruit suit up for the Trojans, as he has secured a verbal commitment from David Sills, a 13-year-old quarterback from Delaware, according to ESPN.com.
Yes, a 13-year-old. From Delaware.
The news has raised questions around the country regarding how young is too young for college recruiting. More importantly, though, is this question: How awesome is this video?
“His skill set is off the chart,” Sills’ coach, Steve Clarkson, told ESPN.com. “I’ve never seen anyone at his age do what he’s been able to do. … He’s already six feet as a 13-year-old, and he’s breaking down NFL footage.”
Clarkson has coached Matt Leinart, Ben Roethlisberger and current USC quarterback Matt Barkley in the past, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Sills, a seventh-grader, has always wanted to play for USC, his father told ESPN.
While we don’t know if his career will pan out (in high school, let alone college), it’s fair to say that whoever made these films deserves a healthy chunk of this kid’s rookie NFL contract. This guy can make preteen football look like it was produced by NFL Films.
