Celtics  players understand NBA trade discussions, but they also understand that trades do not change the team’s day-to-day goals.

According to the Boston Herald, Paul Pierce is confident the team can be successful this season without making a deal before the Feb. 18 deadline.

"I think that even without a trade, we can still win a championship," Pierce told the Herald.

Rajon Rondo echoed Pierce's sentiments.

"I think we just need to find it within ourselves," Rondo told the Herald. "We have a great team right now."

Trade speculation will surround the Celtics until Thursday's trade deadline passes. Kevin Garnett understands trade chatter is part of the NBA.

"I think trade rumors are part of the game, and at this stage in everyone's career, it's just part of the business," Garnett told the Herald. "You can be traded for anybody at any point of the year."

Garnett put it best after the 2008 NBA Finals: "Anything is possible."
