Celtics’ J.R. Giddens Undergoes Arthroscopic Knee Surgery

Celtics guard J.R. Giddens underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday, the team announced in a press release.

Giddens, a second-year player out of New Mexico, has averaged 1.1 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in 21 contests this season. He recorded a season-high six points and seven rebounds Jan. 13 against New Jersey.

He also played four games for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League and averaged 18 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals.

No timetable has been set for Giddens’ return, according to the release.
