Could Joey Porter Make Move to the Jets?

Could notorious trash-talker Joey Porter join the outspoken Rex Ryan with the Jets next season?

The move makes sense for both sides, and it remains a possibility if the Dolphins release the veteran linebacker at the start of free agency.

The linebacker's relationship with the Dolphins has deteriorated to the point where he's not on speaking terms with members of the front office. The team nearly released him earlier this month, only to keep the 11-year NFL veteran on their roster because of salary-cap implications.

Porter would provide the Jets a premier pass rusher to pair with Calvin Pace in the team's 3-4 defense. In addition, Porter would make the disappointing Vernon Gholston expendable.

The veteran linebacker has a passion for the game, one that makes him an ideal fit to join the boisterous Jets locker room. New York would get a fired-up Porter who could take out last season's frustrations on the Dolphins — not to mention his hated Patriots — twice a year.

The Jets will face competition for the four-time Pro Bowler if he joins the free-agent market next month, but Porter to the Jets appears to be a perfect fit.
