The Patriots reportedly offered Bodden a multi-year deal last year, but the cornerback accepted a one-year, $2.25 million contract in the hopes of setting himself up for a mega-deal in 2010. Keels, Bodden hopes, could pick up where negotiations left off last year.
Bodden has said he would like to return to the Patriots next season but is unwilling to accept a hometown discount to stay in New England.
The seven-year veteran recorded five interceptions in 14 games with the Patriots in 2009 while being on the field for 82 percent of the team's defensive snaps.
