Danny Ainge Denies Bobcats, Wizards Trade Rumors The NBA trade deadline is less than a week away, but Celtics GM Danny Ainge shot down rumors involving the Bobcats and Wizards, The Boston Globe reports.

"There is no truth to either one of those," Ainge told the Globe. "I have had conversations with a lot of teams, but those have never been discussed. There are a lot of things I would like to do, but I don't feel a need to do something. I am always looking to upgrade the team, if possible."

Possible trades involving the Celtics have surfaced more frequently in the days leading up to the trade deadline. The Bobcats reportedly were interested in Glen Davis, while the Wizards were thought to be targeting Ray Allen.

Ainge isn't going to make a move just to make a move. He likes the Celtics' talent but wants to see them play better.

"We are clearly a better team than we've been playing," Ainge told the Globe. "There have been some injuries. But there is no question we are better than how we have been playing."

Despite his denials, Ainge expects trade chatter to continue.

"It will probably heat up next week," Ainge said.
