Four BC Players Selected to ACC All-Academic Team

Four members of the Boston College football team were named to the ACC All-Academic football team on Wednesday.

Kicker Steve Aponavicius, offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo and offensive guards Nathan Richman and Emmett Clearly were part of the team. Aponavicius earned a berth for the fourth straight year and is only the 11th player in ACC history to do so. 

The other players to have been named to the team four years in a row are Maryland's Ralph Lary, Duke's Travis Pearson, N.C. State's Eddie Goines, Florida State's Daryl Bush, Wake Forest's DaLawn Parrish, Florida State's Chris Hope, Georgia Tech's Dan Dyke, North Carolina's Doug Justice, Maryland's Adam Podlesh and Georgia Tech's Travis Bell.

Players must have a 3.00 GPA for the previous semester, a 3.00 cumulative GPA during their academic careers and must play a significant role in at least 50 percent of the team's games during the season to be eligible for consideration.
