J.D. Drew joined NESN’s Heidi Watney on Sunday to discuss the rumors about his retirement and other topics. The retirement talk began when Drew mentioned in passing several days ago that he may retire after the 2011 season.
“That was just a question in general,” Drew said Sunday. “It’s one of these situations where, if at a point in your career — 13 years — I’ve got two kids … you know, it’s always something you’re going to consider.”
Drew also spoke about the shoulder surgery he underwent in the offseason, saying he suffered from pain most of the 2009 season. He also touched on a popular question this spring: Will the Red Sox lineup score enough runs?
