One the most heavily recruited defensive backs in the nation has chosen Cal on National Signing Day, according to GoUpstate.com

Safety Keenan Allen chose Cal because he wanted to play with his stepbrother, quarterback Zach Maynard. Alabama, however, would not take Maynard in a package deal, leading to Allen choosing Cal, where Maynard will also play.

According to LALate.com, Allen is the 33rd-ranked recruit, at 6-foor-2, 195 pounds.
