LeBron James and Ronald McDonald will be playing for the same team this season.

James has agreed to a multiyear deal with McDonald's Corp. According to The Associated Press, the six-time All-Star forward will support several McDonald's programs and promotions and Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provide comfort and care for children and families. James also will be part of TV, print and online advertising campaigns for the fast-food restaurant.

James’ first commercial will air during Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7. The ad should remind viewers of the famous 1993 commercial that featured hoops legends Michael Jordan and Larry Bird engaging in a trick-shot competition for a Big Mac. The new spot also features Orlando All-Star center Dwight Howard and Bird.

James is happy to represent McDonald’s.

"McDonald's and I make a great team," the reigning MVP told the AP. "We share many of the same core values, including a commitment to excellence and giving back to the community. I am also excited about the opportunity to work with Ronald McDonald House Charities, which helps improve the lives of so many children and their families around the world."

McDonald’s, which has more than 31,000 restaurants in 119 countries, likes James’ focus on helping his community — on and off the court.

"We really like what LeBron stands for on and off the court," McDonald’s USA vice president of marketing Peter Sterling told the AP. "He shares the same values as McDonald's. He's hard working. He's community-minded and charity-driven. LeBron is also that rare athlete that transcends his sport."

Next month, James will attend the McDonald's All-American high school games in Columbus, Ohio. All proceeds from the games will go to Ronald McDonald House charities in central Ohio.
