Paul Pierce Questionable for Game Tuesday Against Knicks BOSTON – Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce is thinking about sitting out for a while to rest his sore right thumb.

Pierce says he isn't sure whether he will be able to play on Tuesday night against the New York Knicks. He said on Monday night, "It's pretty banged up right now."

Pierce says that if it doesn't feel any better Tuesday, he probably won't play. He didn't give himself a timetable for his recovery.

Pierce was at the new Boston Garden for the local premiere of the HBO documentary, Magic and Bird, A Courtship of Rivals.

Also at the movie were new Celtics Nate Robinson and Marcus Landry, who were acquired at the trading deadline.
