The Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards are moving closer to a trade that would send power forward Antawn Jamison to Cleveland, reports Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal as currently comprised would include Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jamario Moon and Cleveland's first-round pick to Washington for the two-time All Star. Ilgauskas's expiring contract would bring salary relief while Moon would back up newly acquired Josh Howard.

Jamison would immediately start at power forward ahead of rising star J.J. Hickson as the Cavaliers attempt to bring a title to the championship-starved city of Cleveland.

Wojnarowski says that the Wizards are trying to get more in any trade, including Hickson himself. However, it is possible Washington elects to move forward with the trade as comprised.

Cleveland has also been heavily linked to Amar'e Stoudemire of the Phoenix Suns, although those talks have cooled down recently. It is unclear at this point which deal the Cavaliers would prefer, although star player LeBron James has made no secret of his desire to play with Stoudemire.

The Miami Heat is also making a play for Jamison, a former Sixth Man of the Year award winner, as well as Stoudemire. However, both Phoenix and Washington prefer Cleveland's respective deals as it would provide more salary relief.
