Report: Chan Ho Park Signs One-Year Deal With Yankees In October, he couldn’t beat ’em, so in February, he’s joining ’em.

Veteran reliever Chan Ho Park, who pitched for the Phillies in last year’s World Series, has joined the Yankees, according to Yonhap News Agency of Korea. The deal is reportedly for one year and worth $1.2 million with $300,000 available in incentives.

“I have thoroughly thought through whether to go with the Yankees or the Cubs, who offered to play me as a starter,” Park said in a news conference. “But I opted for the Yankees who have a long history and can defend the World Series title.”

Park, 36, is coming off a year in which he posted a 3-3 record and 4.43 ERA in 83 1/3 innings in his only season with the Phillies. In his career, he is 120-95 with a 4.35 ERA and 1.398 WHIP. Last year, against the Yankees in the World Series, Park pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out three batters and walking one. He’s pitched 10 1/3 innings in the postseason in his career, going 0-1 with a 2.61 ERA.
