Tim Wakefield Expects to Make 30 Starts in 2010

Tim Wakefield Expects to Make 30 Starts in 2010 The official start of spring training kicked off Saturday with pitcher Tim Wakefield‘s contention that he hopes to make 30 starts this season.

“My job here as a starter is to last the whole season,” Wakefield said. “Obviously, that’s my goal.”

It may be difficult for Wakefield to reach that goal as there is an abundance of younger and healthier arms to choose from. If there’s anything to know about Wakefield, however, it’s never to count the 43-year-old out.
