Tuukka Rask Nets Player of the Week Honors With Strong Play It isn't Tim Thomas' fault that he hasn't been starting for the Bruins lately. It's Tuukka Rask's fault for being on a huge hot streak.

The backup netminder is this week's Arbella Player of the Week after starting five straight games and registering three wins in a row, which spearheaded the Bruins' recent resurrection following a 10-game losing streak.

The 2005 first-round pick, who now boasts a 13-7-4 record and a 2.09 GAA, earned a shutout in Sunday's 3-0 win over Montreal, then allowed two goals in a 3-2 shootout win over the Sabres on Tuesday. He fell off the wagon a little bit in Thursday's 5-4 win over Tampa Bay, in which the Bruins raced out to a 5-0 lead before allowing the Lightning to score four unanswered goals over the final 40 minutes — but then again, all of the Bruins fell off the wagon a little in that one.

Will Rask earn a sixth straight start on Saturday, when the B's take on the Panthers in their final game before the Olympic break?

Don't be surprised if he does.
