Orlando Magic teammates Vince Carter and Dwight Howard were just having some fun after practice. Neither of them could have imagined that Carter would set a world record.

There aren’t many people who can hurl a basketball across the court while sitting down, much less drain it into the hoop from the paint on the opposite side of the floor. But that’s exactly what the 33-year-old Carter did on Tuesday from 86 feet away —  and it’s something that nobody appears to have ever done before.

Carter ranks 25th all-time in regular-season 3-point field goals made with 1269, but the trick-shot he made this week is in a league of its own.
