Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference, who missed Thursday's win over the Maple Leafs with a groin injury, could miss up to a week of action.

Ference notched a negative-three rating in Tuesday's loss to the Habs — his first game since Feb. 14. He skated just four games for the B's in the month of February after missing the majority of January with the same groin problem.

The soon-to-be 31-year-old expects to return to the ice next Saturday when the B's take on the Canadiens in Montreal.

In his fourth season with the B's, Ference has seven assists and a negative-seven rating in 47 contests.
