Barry Zito didn't feel like waiting for the regular season to start to get some payback for some extracurricular celebrating on behalf of Prince Fielder last summer.

In the first inning of Thursday's Cactus League game against the Brewers, Zito drilled Fielder in the back with his very first pitch. It was Fielder who pulled off a bowling pin celebration after a walkoff homer on Sept. 6 in Milwaukee.

Fielder simply picked the ball off the ground and flipped it toward Zito and umpire Ted Barrett didn't warn the benches.

Brewers pitcher Jeff Suppan did not retaliate.
