Boston College Coach Jerry York Celebrates Hockey East Title

Boston College Coach Jerry York Celebrates Hockey East Title The Boston College Eagles captured their seventh Hockey East title in school history on Saturday, and coach Jerry York couldn’t be happier.

The Eagles defeated the Maine Black Bears 7-6 in overtime. York understands Maine gave the Eagles everything they had.

“Maine was really a formidable opponent tonight,” York said. “They worked hard, never gave up, and won a key face-off to tie it 6-6.”

Senior Matt Lombardi earned the Bill Flynn Most Valuable Player Award, an honor York feels is well-deserved.

“He’s worked so hard,” York said. “I’m really so proud of him.”

York celebrated the victory, but eyes a national championship in the Frozen Four.

“Our best hockey’s in front of us,” York said.
