Boston Fans Have Seen It Before: Johnny Damon Receives Warm Ovation at Steinbrenner Field Welcome back, Johnny.

Johnny Damon was showered with a warm ovation from Yankees fans as the Tigers outfielder returned to his old spring training headquarters in Tampa Bay to take on the Bronx Bombers, the team he spent the previous four seasons with.

Damon went 1-for-2 with a single before the game was called in the bottom of the fourth due to rain at Steinbrenner Field.

The Yankees were leading 8-0 as Nick Johnson, Robinson Cano and Alex Rodriguez each drove in a pair of runs for the hosts before the skies opened.

Damon signed a one-year, $8 million deal with the Tigers as a free agent in the offseason.
