Bruins Fall Flat Against Penguins, Drop Tough 3-0 Decision This is certainly not how the Bruins imagined things going on Thursday evening at the TD Garden.

Facing the Penguins for the first time since Matt Cooke took out Marc Savard with a blindside hit and left him with a concussion, the Bruins squeezed in a couple of fights — one which pitted Shawn Thornton against Cooke — but they were slapped with a tough 3-0 loss and a squandered opportunity to grab two points in the standings.

Scoring for the Pens were Tyler Kennedy, Alexei Ponikarovsky and Mike Rupp.

Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask made 28 saves on 31 shots.
