Bruins Not Prepared to Sacrifice Playoffs For Revenge The Bruins were fully aware that the city of Boston expected them to take down Matt Cooke during Thursday night’s rematch against the Penguins, but they weren’t prepared to fight at the risk of losing a valuable two points in the standings.

During Thursday’s morning skate, Patrice Bergeron, Shawn Thornton, Mark Recchi and Steve Begin, along with head coach Claude Julien, discussed their expectations for Thursday’s game.

“The focus is on the game,” Begin told NESN’S Naoko Funayama. “It’s very tight right now — we’re still fighting for a spot in the playoffs — so that’s all that matters. That’s all we’re going to be thinking about.”
