Bruins Sign Joe Colborne, Jordan Caron, Michael Hutchinson and Steven Kampfer

The Boston Bruins announced the signing of four young players on Wednesday, with 2008 first-round draft pick Joe Colborne and 2009 first-rounder Jordan Caron among them.

Goaltender Michael Hutchinson, a third-round pick in '08, and defenseman Steven Kampfer, whose rights were acquired in a deal on deadline day, were also signed.

Caron is 6-foot-2, 202 pounds and currently leads playoff scoring in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He has 13 points.

Colborne scored 22 goals for the University of Denver this year, where he played two seasons. In 79 games, the 6-foot-5, 210-pounder scored 32 goals and registered 40 assists.

Hutchinson, 20, posted a 2.86 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 46 games for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, while Kampfer, 21, notched 26 points and finished with a plus-18 rating for the University of Michigan.
