Bruins forward Shawn Thornton has a big right hook. He also has a big heart.

Thornton and other Bruins teammates will join forces on Wednesday with 98.5 The Sports Hub to host the third annual "Cuts for a Cause." The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ned Devine's in Boston. The Bruins will shed their locks to raise money for the Boston Bruins Foundation and MassGeneral Hospital for Children’s HOPE program.

The two organizations support children in their battle against cancer. The MassGeneral Hospital for Children's HOPE program provides art and music therapy to patients and their siblings during treatment periods.

The money raised at the third annual "Cuts for a Cause" will go directly toward purchasing equipment such as music and art stations and a portable recording studio for therapists to work with patients throughout the cancer facility.

So watch as Thornton, Steve Begin, Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuk, Andrew Ference, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Daniel Paille, Tuukka Rask, Mark Recchi, Dennis Seidenberg and Mark Stuart get a trim for a good cause.
