Clay Buchholz Coughs Up Six Runs as Twins Take Down Red Sox 7-2

Clay Buchholz Coughs Up Six Runs as Twins Take Down Red Sox 7-2 The Red Sox couldn’t clinch the Mayor’s Cup Tuesday, falling to the Twins 7-2 behind a stellar pitching performance by former Boston farmhand Carl Pavano.

Opposing Pavano was Clay Buchholz, who lasted just 1 2/3 innings, coughing up five runs, walking three and whiffing just two. He had three wild pitches and hit a batter to add to the pain.

Dustin Pedroia sprained his left wrist and left the game after one inning and is day-to-day. Click on the video below to see highlights from the game.
