Trade Rumors Still Flying About Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNabb Trade rumors continue to swirl around longtime Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, with Oakland now considered to be the front-runner.

The Eagles have three quarterbacks on the roster capable of starting: McNabb, youngster Kevin Kolb and Michael Vick. Kolb is considered the quarterback of the future with McNabb entering the final year of his current contract.

The Eagles have indicated they would consider a trade of McNabb as long as they receive a draft
pick in the top 42
in return. A possible trade with the Rams for the 33rd pick and safety Oshiomogho Atogwe was debunked by Rams officials.

Another possibility has emerged that would involve the Raiders and star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, but Oakland has denied the rumors, according to The Oakland Tribune. One possible impediment on Philadelphia's end might be the amount of money "Aso" is due to make — $16 million in 2010 with a minimum payout of $16.9 million in a 2011 option. If the option is declined, the safety cannot be franchise-tagged.

Nevertheless, McNabb remains linked to the Raiders due to Oakland's uncertain quarterback situation. Another plus in Oakland's favor is the team will not require McNabb to sign an extension upon joining the team, says Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson.

McNabb, for his part, has indicated to the Eagles that he has no interest in leaving, says ESPN.com's Adam Schefter, but with countless postseason failures in Philadelphia with McNabb at the helm, fans have grown impatient.

There are additional
teams
that are interested in McNabb, ProFootballTalk.com reports. At this point, though, the Eagles are collecting offers and will soon sift through them and evaluate which — if any — make sense to pursue.
