In Bruins 2-1 Loss to Penguins, Marc Savard Suffers Concussion In a Sunday matinee, the Boston Bruins took on the Pittsburgh Penguins in the middle of a grueling seven-game road trip. Unfortunately for the Black and Gold, they dropped the game 2-1.

The game will be remembered more, though, for Penguin Matt Cooke‘s brutal hit on Marc Savard, who suffered a concussion as a result. He is likely to be out for several games, and Bruins coach Claude Julien said he fully expects a suspension for Cooke.

In other game news, Tim Thomas stood up to the Penguins attack, but he couldn’t come away with a win as Boston’s scoring troubles continued.
