Kevin McHale: Can Celtics Win 2010 Title? 'Probably Not' Kevin McHale is a Celtics legend who won three NBA titles in a Boston uniform. But even he doesn't think the men in green are likely to take home championship No. 18 this summer.

When asked Sunday in an appearance at Burlington Mall if the Celtics could win the title this season, McHale appeared doubtful.

"I would say, as of today, probably not," he told CSNNE.com. "But that can change. Again, if they start catching a little bit of that wave and get that rhythm … how they start off that playoff series, you know, do they really get focused?

"And I think [Doc Rivers is] a very good coach. Doc will get them as ready as he can."

Since the end of his playing career in 1993, McHale has been involved with the game at the management level. He played various roles within the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise — including general manager and, most recently, coach — before it was announced last summer that he would not be returning for the 2009-10 season.
