The Lions appear determined to get out of the NFL's basement.

Already holding the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft, the Lions are wasting no time to get active in this year's free-agent period.

Early Friday morning, it was reported that wide receiver Nate Burleson agreed on a deal to join the Lions, and later in the morning, the Detroit Free Press reported that defensive lineman Kyle Vanden Bosch agreed to a four-year deal to head to Motown.

ESPN.com's Adam Schefter reported via Twitter that the deal is worth $26 million.

Lions head coach Jim Scwartz waited outside Vanden Bosch's until the free-agency period began at 12 a.m., according to the newspaper.
