Marc Savard suffered a devastating hit during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. After getting a shot on goal off, he was clocked in the head by a Matt Cooke elbow, sending him to the ice in a heap.
After remaining motionless on the ice for several minutes, he was carted off on a backboard, waving to fans.
Savard has been diagnosed with a concussion and will stay overnight in a Pittsburgh. He is not expected to dress for Tuesday’s affair with Toronto, and may be out longer.
