Marc Savard: 'I Think There Was an Attempt to Injure' Bruins center Marc Savard addressed the media on Saturday afternoon for the first time since sustaining a Grade 2 concussion on March 7.

Savard has not returned to the ice since Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke hit him with a blindside elbow to the head.

“I think it was a play that didn’t need to happen obviously,” he said. “To me, it wasn’t a shoulder. I think there was an attempt to injure.”

Savvy was asked if the Penguins forward has contacted him since the hit, to which the center responded,”I don’t have any interest in talking to [Cooke].”
