So the Jets lost a coin flip with the Giants to host the first regular season game at the New Meadowlands Stadium. Instead, the NYJ not only host the first Monday Night Football game at the state-of-the-art complex, they will also be hosting the Thanksgiving night contest.

According to Gary Myers of the New York Daily News, the Jets accepted the NFL's offer to host the Thanksgiving night game this year with kickoff at 8:20 p.m. ET. This move impacts the football fans of New England and Detroit, as it means the Patriots will be traveling to the Motor City to take on the Lions on Turkey Day.

Because CBS will be televising the Lions' game, the road team must be from the AFC. According to the 2010 NFL schedule, the only AFC teams playing in Ford Field this season will be the Pats and the Jets.
