The Patriots are looking for a run-stopping clog on their defensive line and may be close to adding one on former Jets defensive end Marques Douglas.

According to the Boston Herald, the free agent is on the Patriots' radar this week but has yet to pay a visit to Gillette Stadium. The 32 year old — who will turn 33 on March 15 — spent his 11th year in the NFL with the Jets last season, where he posted 64 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks in 16 games (12 starts).

Douglas broke into the league in 1999 with the Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent and has 435 tackles to go with 20 1/2 career sacks. He has started all 16 regular season games three times in his career (2003, 2006, 2007) and posted eight total tackles this past postseason.

The 6-foot-2, 290-pounder earned $745,000 last season and is also being pursued by the Titans, Panthers and Bucs among others, according to the report.
