'Tired' Marc Savard Diagnosed With Grade 2 Concussion The Boston Globe is reporting that Bruins center Marc Savard suffered a Grade 2 concussion from the blindsided hit to the head he received Sunday compliments of Penguins forward Matt Cooke.

At this point it is not known how long Savard will be out, but despite being able to fly home, Savard is still suffering the effects of the concussion. Savard told GM Peter Chiarelli on Monday that, he "felt like he got hit by a bus."

"Also that he's very tired," Chiarelli told the Globe's Fluto Shinzawa. "Those are two major symptoms of a concussion. It's a bad concussion. The degree and the level of it, we'll find out in the next 4-5 days."

Savard was treated by Dr. Peter Asnis in Boston, who diagnosed it as a Grade 2 concussion. But that evaluation is not certain and could change depending on Savard's condition over the next few days.

"The fact that he was unconscious for a period of time plays into the prognosis," Chiarelli said.

How long Savard is out is anyone's guess, but at this point, the prognosis does not look good for a quick return.
