CLEVELAND — Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas has signed to play the rest of the season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coach Mike Brown said Tuesday that he will fly with the team to New Orleans later in the day and will likely play against the Hornets on Wednesday.

To make room for Ilgauskas, forward Darnell Jackson was waived.

Agent Herb Rudoy said Ilgauskas still plans to pursue free agency in the offseason. Ilgauskas was at the Cavs practice facility Tuesday but did not work out with the team.

Cleveland sent Ilgauskas to the Washington Wizards at the trade deadline in a three-team deal that brought Antawn Jamison and Sebastian Telfair to the Cavaliers.

Ilgauskas spent his entire career in Cleveland before the trade. He is averaging 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds this season.
