After Rangers Win, Bruins Must Wait Another Day To Clinch Playoff Spot

The Bruins will have to wait another day to become an official contender in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Rangers stayed in the hunt with a 4-3 win over the Flyers on Friday night. If the Rangers had lost in regulation, the Bruins would have clinched a spot in the playoffs.

Boston, which next plays Carolina at 1 p.m. on Saturday, will have the opportunity to clinch if it picks up one point in either of its final two games.

Currently, the Rangers and Flyers are tied with 86 points. Boston and Montreal both have 87 points, and all four teams are fighting for three remaining spots.

If the Bruins get one more point, they're in. Hopefully, the B's can earn some certainty on Saturday afternoon.
