Bromance Rekindled as Hideki Matsui Returns to Derek Jeter, Yankee Stadium As quickly as they ushered him out the door this offseason, the New York Yankees welcomed outfielder and World Series MVP Hideki Matsui back in to Yankee Stadium on Tuesday.

Only because they had to, as his Angels were in town.

Coincidentally, the Yanks were receiving their 2009 World Series rings and Matsui, now an OF of the LAA, received one of the largest ovations as well as a big, wet smooch from Derek Jeter.

No word yet if A-Rod got jealous.

Quote of the day

“What we’re arguing is that
professional sports is a business that has to respect the law just like
any other business, and that teams that participate can’t commit fraud
on ticketholders. The Patriots had altered the
rules of the game and were playing with advance knowledge of opponents’
plays.”
–Jets fan Carl Mayer, who filed a suit against the Patriots for “SpyGate”

Comment of the day

As if Red Sox debates weren’t heated enough, let’s throw some politics into the matter.

“Is there any chance that Tito could be related to Obama? All I see is a lot of talk and not more action.”

It’s nice to see Conan O’Brien landing back on his feet.
