Daisuke Matsuzaka Goes Six Scoreless in Second Rehab Start Daisuke Matsuzaka threw six scoreless innings Thursday in his second rehab start for Triple-A Pawtucket.

Pitching in Buffalo, Matsuzaka yielded three hits, each of them to lead off an inning. He struck out two and did not allow a walk in a game the PawSox eventually lost 3-2 in 10 innings.

The right-hander, who threw 57 of his 86 pitches for strikes, has yet to allow a run in 11 innings for Pawtucket. On the 15-day disabled list with a neck strain, Matsuzaka is expected to make one more rehab start before possibly being activated after next weekend.

Former Red Sox reliever Alan Embree also threw a scoreless frame for Pawtucket.
