When you get a couple of Hall of Famers in one room, disagreements are bound to take place, but Jim Rice and Dennis Eckersley were in complete agreement on one topic, and it wasn’t a good sign for supporters of Mike Lowell.
Following the Red Sox’ loss to the Yankees in extra innings on Wednesday night, the two played a round of “Hit or Miss” with Tom Caron. On the docket was the question of whether Lowell would remain a member of the Red Sox for the entirety of the 2010 season. Both Eck and Jim said no.
“There’s no way,” Eckersley said.
Rice believed the Red Sox will make Lowell happy. Unfortunately for Lowell’s fans in Boston, Rice said being happy for Lowell will mean going somewhere where he can play every day.
The two also gave their takes on whether John Lackey will reach 200 innings, if Nomar Garciaparra is worthy of the Hall of Fame and if the Royals can finish with a .500 record. They also made their predictions for Tiger Woods and The Masters.
