Where Are Red Sox Headed After Month of April?

Well, that was a pretty eventful month of April, wouldn’t you say?

It started with a Sunday night win over the Yankees, took a sharp turn for the worse with a four-game sweep at home to the Rays, and it went out on a high note with a series sweep in Toronto.

So, with just game remaining in April, John in Cranston, R.I., asks: how do you feel about the Red Sox? Has the past week been an indication of what this team will be like, or is the month as a whole a better sample for what this team is?

Optimists will point to Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and John Lackey for having atypical months. Chances are, they’ll turn it around over the next six months for this ballclub.

Pessimists, however, have been underwhelmed by the “run prevention” mantra that was used in the offseason, as the team has not looked dominant in any one facet of the game.

So, which is it — are the Red Sox heading in the right or wrong direction?

Text “SOX1” to 542542 if you think they’re going in the right direction, or text “SOX2” to 542542 if you think things are going downhill.

As of 8 a.m. on Saturday, Red Sox Nation isn’t warming up to the team’s performance, as just 46 percent of voters feel like the Sox are heading towards greener pastures. Fifty-four percent have yet to be convinced and think things are heading south.
