Jacoby Ellsbury Rests While Rest of Red Sox Hope to Find Rhythm Baseball may be the only profession where an early batch of days off can do more harm than good.

The Red Sox have struggled out of the gate and their two days off within the first nine days of action weren’t much of a help. Starting Wednesday however, the Sox will embark on a 15-day baseball bender as they don’t have an off day until April 29.

Benefiting from Tuesday’s break was outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, who left Sunday’s tilt with the Royals with injured ribs. Taking his spot at the top of the order is Marco Scutaro, while Jeremy Hermida takes over in left field.
