Jose Reyes Ready to Make Season Debut NEW YORK — New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes is set to return to the lineup.

Mets manager Jerry Manuel says Reyes will come off the disabled list and bat leadoff in Saturday's game against Washington.

Reyes missed much of spring training
because of a hyperactive thyroid. The All-Star was injured for most of
last season and didn't play after May 20 because of a hamstring
problem.

Reyes has been playing in the minors
this week and working himself back into shape. He rejoined the Mets and
practiced with the team before Friday night's game, saying there's nothing to worry about and that he is ready to play.
