Kevin Millar Joins MLB Network as Studio Analyst Unable to land a job with the Chicago Cubs in spring training, Kevin Millar has joined a new team at MLB Network.

The 12-year MLB veteran joins the network this week, where he’ll bring an unmistakable ability to shine in the spotlight.

“Working with the guys at the MLB Network is the next best thing to actually being in a clubhouse,” Millar said in a statement. “I am really excited to get started and have some fun.”

With stints in Florida, Boston, Baltimore and Toronto, Millar made a career out of being a clubhouse chemistry guy. He was instrumental in the Red Sox’ championship run in 2004 as the starting first baseman, and he even played a role in the ’07 World Series run — when he was a member of the Orioles. Millar returned to Boston to throw out the first pitch of Game 7 of the ALCS at Fenway Park, and the Sox went on to roll over the Indians 11-2. Earlier in the series, he gave a rallying cry for Boston fans before a game as well.

Clearly, he’ll always be remembered in Boston for his personality as much as his athleticism, and if his NESN appearance from last season is any indication, he’ll have no trouble leaving a lasting impression in his new TV gig.
