Marc Savard Still Not Ready for Physical Activity

Head coach Claude Julien gave an update on the status of Marc Savard on Thursday morning, but there wasn't much of an update to give. There was just confirmation that the team's leading scorer of the last two seasons is not coming back before the season finale on April 11 at Washington.

"Not as we speak, I don't think he has done anything yet," Julien replied when asked if the star center, who has a Grade 2 concussion, had resumed any physical activity this week. "Obviously, those symptoms have to clear first, and he hasn't cleared those. That's why we said [he won't return in the regular season]. After that, it will depend."

With concussions having no linear recovery or a definitive prognosis, the Bruins aren't ruling out or counting on a return for the playoffs — if the team makes it.

"The thing is, those kind of things could change day to day," Julien said. "If he starts feeling better in a couple of days, now we're able to answer questions and say he is on the right track, but he hasn't jumped over that hurdle yet."
