Tiger Woods Watch: Tiger Finishes 4-Under 68 in First Round of Masters 7:25 p.m.: Woods sinks the putt and finishes the day with a 4-under 68.

In what was surely an emotional day for Woods, his family and his fans,
the golfer finished with his best first round of any Masters tournament.

Tiger had never finished a first round at the Masters under 70 in his professional career. He'll enter Round 2 within two strokes of the lead.

7:21 p.m.: Tiger misses for birdie yet again.

As Woods goes for par, the rain picks up. Perhaps it's a fitting end to the day.

7:18 p.m.: Woods has just six feet to finish the day with a birdie.

If he sinks the next shot, he'll finish the day 5-under 67 and within one shot of the lead. However, Woods has performed poorly on birdie putts today.

7:15 p.m.: It's been an extended wait for Woods to finish the 18th hole, but Woods looks ready to go.

7:06 p.m.: Tiger Woods mouths "Thank you" to his fans before teeing off on 18. The world's No. 1 golfer has received tremendous support today, which may or may not come as a surprise.

Woods begins the final hole of the day with a deep drive.

He stands roughly 200 yards away from the hole, and has a good angle to the pin.

7:03 p.m.: Tiger makes par on 17.

He enters the final hole of the day 4-under.

7:00 p.m.: Woods misses the birdie (once again). He can knock it in from three feet to make par on 17.

K.J. Choi has already made par on 17 and celebrates his achievement with a fist pump.

6:57 p.m.: Tiger putts for birdie on 17.

If he's successful, he'll move to 5-under with one hole remaining. If not, his disappointing stretch of missed birdies will continue.

6:53 p.m.: Woods tees off and gets the ball close to the top of the landing area.

6:49 p.m.: Tiger could learn from watching K.J. Choi, one of his playing partners at Augusta.

K.J. Choi is 5-under through 16. He's made four straight birdies.

6:44 p.m.: Despite missing the birdie on 16, Woods is on pace to finish sub-70 on the day.

If Woods makes par on the final holes, he'll finish the day tied for sixth place.

6:41 p.m.: Tiger falls to his knees after missing the birdie on 16.

What is it with Woods and birdies today? Tiger taps in for par and remains at 4-under through 16.

6:37 p.m.: Tiger tees off on the par-3 16th, and the shot goes left.

He hits the green, but Woods will have to sink a 15-foot left-to-right shot for birdie.

6:32 p.m.: Woods has every reason to smile following his eagle on 15.

Tiger moves to 4-under on the afternoon. Couples finishes with a 6-under 66 on the day and maintains the clubhouse lead.

However, Eldrick Tont Woods has three holes remaining.

6:28 p.m.: Tiger eyes an eagle on 15.

If he's successful, he'll move to 4-under on the day and within two strokes of Fred Couples for the lead.

6:24 p.m.: Tiger follows up an amazing drive with an even more ridiculous shot to within 10 feet of the hole.

Woods must have known it was good as soon he made contact because he began walking toward the hole before the ball landed.

6:21 p.m.: The 15th hole at Augusta is a par 5. Woods needs to make up ground here if he wants to move up the leaderboard.

He should have a good chance to make up ground following his strong drive to open the hole.

6:19 p.m.: Tiger makes a nice drive on 15.

After a tough go on 14, Woods is smiling after this drive.

6:16 p.m.: Woods moves into a seven-way tie for 14th place, but that might not be the biggest story of the afternoon.

Fred Couples moves to 6-under and is atop the leaderboard with a birdie on 17.

6:14 p.m.: Another tough break for Woods as he misses the par putt from eight feet away.

Another bogey and Tiger moves to 2-under on the afternoon.

6:10 p.m.: Woods lets loose by shouting "God!" after a missed birdie putt on 14.

I thought Tiger was a Buddhist.

However, Woods followed up the shouting with a smile, and will attempt to make par.

6:08 p.m.: Woods chips from the rope line and comes up a bit short of the hole.

Tiger should be able to at least make par.

6:04 p.m.: Woods finds the fairway with his drive on 14. It's a par 4 without a bunker, and Tiger may have a chance at a birdie with a good second shot.

5:59 p.m.: Tiger enters the 14th hole tied for eighth with David Toms, Trevor Immelman and Sandy Lyle.

Amazing stat from ESPN's Jason Sobel: Woods has never made two eagles in one Masters round in his career.

5:56 p.m.: The streak is over: Woods makes birdie on 13 to move to 3-under.

Tiger moves up the leaderboard, but had it not been for a few missed birdies, he could easily be at the top.

5:53 p.m.: Another tough break for Woods as the eagle attempt lips out on 13.

Will Woods birdie-free streak continue? Probably not.

Woods should be able to knock it in to move to 3-under.

5:47 p.m.: Woods gets within 12 feet of the hole. He has a chance to make eagle.

Tiger's doing very well for someone who hasn't played in a tournament in 144 days.

5:45 p.m.: Tiger is roughly 200 feet from the hole. He has a great chance to make up ground on 13.

Fred Couples makes some noise as he moves to 5-under with a birdie on 15. He joins Tom Watson, Lee Westwood, Y.E. Yang and Phil Mickelson in a five-way tie for the lead.

5:35 p.m.: Tiger goes with the 3-wood and splits the fairway with his drive on 13.

He's in good position to get to the green in two shots from here, but we'll have to wait and see.

5:33 p.m.: It appears Tiger's in a birdie drought as he enters the 13th hole at Augusta.

Interesting stat: Tiger has gone three consecutive holes without a birdie.

We'll have to wait and see how he handles the upcoming par 5.

5:31 p.m.: Close but no cigar for Woods' birdie on 11.

He pushes the putt to the right and taps in again to make par.

Woods remains at 2-under on the afternoon.

5:24 p.m.: Excellent drive for Woods on the par 3.

Woods gets to within six feet of the hole. He has a great chance to move to 3-under with a birdie.

5:23 p.m.: Woods tips his hat to the crowd.

The world's No. 1 golfer sets up with the 9-iron on the par-3 12th.

5:19 p.m.: Woods misses the bird but taps in for par to remain 2-under on the afternoon.

Tiger has seven holes to go and remains tied for 10th place at Augusta.

5:17 p.m.: But Woods recovers, and he's now setting up for a birdie putt on 11 of no more than 20 feet.

Woods takes his driver and hurls it towards the ground after his drive goes off into the trees.
