The Boston Marathon is always an exciting time in Boston, and this year, Boston Athletic Association executive director Guy Morse said the fact that two American men are expected to be in contention to win the race should make this year’s marathon even more exciting.
“They’re going to lend another level of excitement to this event — if that’s possible — especially if they’re in contention,” Morse said of Ryan Hall and Meb Keflezighi. “It’s really going to be a special year in that regard.”
Morse, who is in his 25th year as executive director, seemed most pleased with the organization’s ability to raise money for charity.
“The event is still the special event that our parents and grandparents remember, but it’s also really transitioned into a big special event — not only for the runners but for our charity programs,” he said. “It’s amazing.”
Morse took some time to talk with NESN this week, and you can watch below.
