Bruins Fall Victim to Flyers' Pressure in Game 6 “Game 7” may be the two most exciting words in sports, but Bruins fans would’ve been perfectly content with a win at the Wachovia Center in Game 6 on Wednesday night.

Instead, the Bruins came out flat and the Flyers came out strong en route to a 2-1 victory over Boston to even the Eastern Conference semifinal series at three games apiece, forcing a final game at the TD Garden on Friday.

Philadelphia captain Mike Richards lit the lamp just 6:58 into the first period, and Danny Briere tacked on a power-play tally with less than four minutes to go in the second. Boston didn’t get on the board until it pulled goaltender Tuukka Rask in the final minutes of the third; with 60 ticks on the clock, Milan Lucic pulled the B’s within one, but it was too little, too late.

In his first-ever NHL start in the playoffs, Flyers goaltender Michael Leighton — replacing Brian Boucher, who sprained his MCL in Game 5 — earned the W, stopping 30 of 31 shots. Rask made 25 saves on 27 shots.
