Bruins Must Move On After Collapse to Flyers

Bruins Must Move On After Collapse to Flyers It might be difficult to do, but it’s time for the Bruins and their fans to move on. Andy Brickley came onto SportsDesk on Sunday night to help do just that.

“I think a lot of the Bruins fans will look at it as a collapse,” Brickley said. “But I’m going to take the other viewpoint. This is a team that needed extra time in the last game of the regular season … just to get into the postseason. It almost seemed like they had fate on their side.”

So where do the B’s go from here?

“I think they have to explore every opportunity,” Brickley says.

One opportunity he doesn’t expect the Black and Gold to take is trading Tim Thomas.

“I expect him to challenge Tuukka [Rask] next year,” Brickley asserted. If Rask holds onto his job, then perhaps the team can revisit trading Thomas at the deadline.

As for the NHL draft? The Bruins hold the No. 2 pick and B’s fans have a lot to look forward to.

“They are expecting a franchise player,” Brickley says of who the Bruins will draft.
