Jeremy Hermida Plays Hero as Red Sox Rally For Win Jeremy Hermida
had a crucial hit in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s 7-6 win over the Yankees, knocking in two runs against vaunted closer Mariano Rivera.

Hermida shook off thoughts that he wasn’t prepared to enter the game after sitting on the bench during the long and cold night.

“You play and make sure you stay loose,” Hermida told Heidi Watney on Red Sox Extra Innings. “I was able to come through.”

Hermida said the Red Sox have showed lately that the offense just won’t quit.

“This team is never giving up. We’re fighting for the last out, and it showed,” he said.

Tom Caron couldn’t agree more.

“With all the gloom and doom people have about this team right now, we’re starting to understand this offense isn’t going to quit,” he said.
