Marco Scutaro Out of Sox Lineup for First Time in Over Month

Marco Scutaro will not be in the starting lineup for the first time in over a month when the Red Sox host the Minnesota Twins in the opener of a quick two-game series Wednesday.

Scutaro, who committed two errors in Tuesday's 7-6 win in New York, is the only Boston player to have appeared in all 40 games thus far. He has started 39 of those, and came off the bench April 11 in Kansas City.

J.D. Drew will replace Scutaro in the leadoff spot. Drew has yet to hit first this season, but did so 14 times in 2009 and has started 73 games in his career at leadoff, batting .233 with 10 home runs.

Bill Hall takes Scutaro's spot at shortstop. Hall started that April 11 game in Kansas City and committed an error in the first inning that led to a Royals run.

Drew is 4-for-6 with a pair of doubles and Hall has two home runs and five RBIs in 12 career at bats against Twins starter Scott Baker.
